The Clinico-Statistical Observation of Uterine Myoma.

Abstract
80 cases of Uterine Myoma treated at the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology of Jeonbug National University Hospital from January 1, 1976 to December 31, 1980 reviewed Clinico-Statistically and the results were obtamed as follows.
1. The frequency of the radical surgery for myoma was 14.13% of the whole major gyneco logical operations (524 cases) during 5 years excluding obstetrical & minor surgeries.
2. The group of 40~49 years was the highest in the age distribution and 60.0%, while the youngest 20 years old and the oldest 64 years old.
3. The myomas were found 88.75% in the corporeal portion, whereas respectively 5.0% in the cervical and cervicocorporeal portion. Regard to histological classification, intramural myomas were 46.25%, the highest and submucous 18.75%, subserous 18.75% and mixed 1;6.25 %.
4. The uterine bleeding, pain and pelvic heaviness were chief complaints (63.75%) and the types of uterine bleeding were mainly. meaometrorrhagia and inter-menstrual bleeding (26. 25%) and frequent (23.75%) in the submucous and the intramural myoma.
5. The full-term delis pry was experienced in 85.0 % of the patients, of which parity 35 was 53.75 %. The complication of pregnancy was noted in 20.0 %, resulting in spontaneous abortion of 16.25 %, whereas the infertility was observed in 11.25 %. Therefore the influence of myoma on the fertility was hard to suspect.
6. The anemia with hemoglobin ranged 5 to 10mg % was noted in 37.5%, while 1.25% less than 5mg%.
7. One third of the patients (33.75%) were associated with other gynecological diseases, of which adenomyosis was the most common (13.75%).
8. The secondary change of the myoma was found in 10.0 % with hyaline degeneration 7.5%, sarcomatous degeneration 1.25%.
9. All of the patient has been treated by means of total hysterectomy for chief indications being uterine bleeding and palpable mass in 70.0%.
